MISSION OPPORTUNITY : OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child is a program of Samaritan's Purse. Samaritan's Purse is a Christian
relief and evangelism organization led by Franklin Graham.
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the
world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity
for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas
- Jesus Christ.
Our Sunday school children have participated in this mission project for the past two years. We had wonderful participation from the whole congregation. The children are looking forward to participating again this year.
Since 1993, this Samaritan's Purse project has shared the Good News of God's love with hurting
children through the simplest of gifts - shoe boxes! Filled with school supplies, toys and personal items that are packed
by caring people, these boxes help introduce children to Jesus Christ. Local believers follow up with evangelistic programs,
and many precious boys and girls later receive Jesus as their Savior.
Boxes will be labeled for a girl or boy, and by age 2 - 4 years, 5 - 9 years or 10 -14 years.
A donation of $7 for each box helps cover project expenses like shipping the boxes.
We feel that this is an excellent mission project for our Sunday school children again this
year. Our deadline for receiving items is November 15. The children will be using the “Noisy Offering” and car wash proceeds to purchase items for
the shoeboxes this year. Participation is open to all who wish to help.

PRAYER SHAWL KNIT/CROCHET GROUP
The Prayer Shawl knit/crochet
group will meet at noon on December 16. Bring a bag lunch. We will set a day and time for this group to meet going forward.
AN OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER
As we all know, most of the work around the church is done on a volunteer basis.
We have an opportunity to help keep our church building clean. Starting Nov. 21 at 9 AM, we will be doing a
monthly, light cleaning, of the church. This
will include vacuuming and dusting, cleaning the bathroom, and occasionally wiping up the kitchen floor. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Please
put your name on one of the teams on the sheet on the back bulletin board. There
is one vacuum at the church, so if you would like to bring your own, feel free to do so.
FOOD PANTRY
The second Sunday of every month has been designated as Food Pantry Sunday. Please bring items for a Thanksgiving dinner i.e.: green beans,
mushroom soup, French onions, yams, sweet potatoes, canned gravy, instant potatoes, Jell-O, cranberries, pumpkin, pie shells. Your donations help feed those who are less fortunate in our community. Please bring nonperishable items or write a check to the church designating the food pantry.
