A young Missionary, Thomas Hanna, came from Ohio to the Dousman area in 1848.

"By his winning disposition he engaged the affections and by his piety and talents, he secured the respect of all."

He inspired the people to start a Sunday school, culminating in a church building in 1861. That his hopes and those of his successors were realized is evidenced by the still small, but warm and vibrant church here today.

Our pews have been filled by people with a great variety of personalities and talents, which they brought to a common purpose: to spread abroad the love of God and His saving grace through Jesus Christ. Over the years this purpose took root in many hearts, and was nurtured and flourished in this very spot. The building has changed, but our purpose has not.

Sunday School has always been important to us, and we offer classes for all ages on Sunday. Other opportunities for study and growth are offered at various other times throughout the year.
